All you need is a sheet of store bought puff pastry and some pantry staples. Oh and this version is dusted with some extra cheese powder using a bag of Chiz Curlz.
Ingredients
-
1/2 Cup grated Queso De Bola
-
1 sheet of Store Bought Puff Pastry Dough
-
1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
-
1 Teaspoon Salt
-
1 Teaspoon Pepper
-
1 Bag of Chiz Curls
Directions
Defrost puff pastry according to package directions.
Once ready to bake preheat oven to 400˚F.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Place the defrosted puff pastry dough on top of the parchment paper.
Brush top of puff pastry with olive oil.
Season puff pastry with salt, pepper.
Sprinkle top of pastry with queso de boll and press down on the queso to stick to the dough.
Using a pizza cutter or knife, cut the dough into 10 to 12 long strips, about 1-inch wide.
Pick up a strip of dough hold one end with one hand, and the other end with your other hand, and twist from both ends about 8 times.
Repeat with the other strips.
Bake for 10 minutes; flip the baking sheet in the oven and continue to bake for 5 to 8 more minutes, or until browned and crisp.
While it’s baking make the cheese powder.
Place a whole bag of cheese puffs in a food processor and run for 1-2 minutes until the cheese turns into powder. Transfer to a plate.
Remove the cheese sticks from oven and coat in the cheese powder.
Serve right away.
